Broomfield, Colorado – On February 21, 2017, Vail Resorts released an official press release stating that they will acquire Stowe Mountain Resort from the Mt. Mansfield Company, a subsidiary of the American International Group Inc., for $50 million.

Stowe will be Vail Resort’s first major ski resort purchase on the East Coast. Acquiring Stowe means they can now offer the Epic Pass to the East Coast market. Stowe Mountain Resort will be integrated into the Epic Pass starting in the 2017/2018 winter season.

Last year, Vail Resorts acquired Whistler Blackcomb for over $1 billion. Stowe now joins the vast ski resort empire of Vail Resorts.
