British Climber Dies Of Severe Altitude Sickness On Manaslu In Nepal

Manaslu, Nepal – On September 25, 2017 a British climber died of severe altitude sickness on Manaslu in the Nepal Himalaya.

Ishwor Paudel of the Himalayan Guide’s identified the victim as Philip Harver, 46 (AlanArnette.com). Harver fell ill while at Camp IV, and died at approximately 8 AM while descending from Camp Three.

At 8163 meters / 26781 ft, Manasslu is the 8th highest peak in the world. It is one of only 14 peaks that rises about 8000 meters. Located in the Himalayas of Nepal, Manaslu means “mountain of the spirit.” It was first climbed on 9 May 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu (Wikipedia.org).
